A collection of objects that originates from material experiments and the designers hands-on work. Testing ideas by making has shown the way to the creation of the avs: collection. Intuition and repetition are combined to find new expressions.

The inspiration comes from many sources, from threads and webbing to ancient architecture and the stripes of old note books.

There is a history behind each object in the collection and they relate more or less to each other, yet can also be considered simply for what they are, a pouf, a vessel, a bag… functional, tactile, visual and with a close relationship to the material they are made of. Webbing in linen, stoneware clay, wool velvet and watercolor paper. Durable material of highest quality, choosen to last for a long time.

All objects in the avs: collection are made by hand in Sweden in small workshops as well as in the designstudio of Anna von Schewen.

Designer and architect Anna von Schewen founded her studio 1997 in Stockholm. Since then she has collaborated with some of Swedens leading design companies such as Gärsnäs, Fogia, Svenskt Tenn and String Furniture as well as international high-end brands De Padova, Zanotta and Arflex Japan among others. The nature of her work has given her a solid reputation as one of Swedens most progressive, experimental designers. Her work range from furniture and objects to exhibition design, interior and architecture.

The avs: collection launched in May 2023 with her exhibition Parallel Lines at House of Gärsnäs in Stockholm. The collection is available through this webshop as well as at House of Gärsnäs, Svensksundsvägen 17 at Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.
